LADY KARMA
-Words by Jeff Brent ©
1971
Lady Karma with steady eye and clever fingers
Reweaves the tattered thread of the old lives
Into the bitter fabric of the new
That imperfect tapestry is the babe
Spun from silk and burlap
Gold and feces
Ever more intricate grows the design
As Lachesis, Disposer of Lots, lends her hand
From her loom springs forth the fruit with the
Joy of the newly risen sun
To ferment into the sweet wine of sorrow and the agony of pain
Billions upon billions, like the snowflakes that fall
All differ yet all are the same
For all must face Atropos' Abhorred Shears
She will not be deterred, her duty is clear
Shredding with infinite delicacy, one by one separating the strands
Lady Karma with steady eye and clever fingers
Reweaves the tattered thread of the old lives
Into the bitter fabric of the new
