Saturday night I was heading for Denver
In a beat up hunk o' junk
When whoops goddammit the engine went boom
And the fricking tranny went clunk

There I was a-standin' on the side of the road
Contemplating my doom
Then I saw a sign said "Burgers and Beer"
And just $20 bucks for a room

I hitched up my jeans and walked right in
There's a waitress just as cute as could be
I said "Hey, Honey mama what you been doing?"
She said she'd been waiting for me!

Here I thought it was the end of the line
But it's a new beginning I see
Bless my luck we hopped in her truck
And she kissed me tenderly

Cowgirls and hot rod cars
We'll get drunk and dance all night long
Till the band packs up their guitars

Them boys smokin' cheap cigars
I'll spend my whole life and all of my money in-a

Well, Honey and me we drove on down
To the hottest spot in town
It was the ....... , I think. We knocked back a drink
And Honey bought the next round!

We got to dancin', I was thinking romancin'
I'd forgot all about my damn car
But I was getting the eye from this big hairy guy
At the other end of the bar

To my dismay, he started moving our way
He was snortin' like a charging bull
He said "Back off Jack. I'm Billy Jim Earle
Ain't NObody touches MY girl!"

Now I knew it was the end of the line
'Cause he was blocking my way to the door
But Honey jumped up, kicked him in the nuts
And left him lying there on the floor
